Nadra-Geoinvest

NADRA-GEOINVEST LLC was founded in 2007. It is a full-cycle energy company: exploration and field development, production and exploration drilling, and output of natural gas, condensate and oil in the Poltava region. The company sees its work as a contribution to economic growth and Ukraine’s energy security.

Oleksandr Katsuba has been managing and developing the company since 2014, and in January 2026 he officially became the owner of a 50% stake. The Nadra-Geoinvest group brings together several producers, including Stratum Ukraine, Sens-D and Gaz-MDS, and is among the country’s three largest private gas producers. The Union of National Business Ratings awarded it the “Gold of the Rating” among companies of Ukraine and Kyiv.

The core asset is the Skorobahatky oil, gas and condensate field in the Poltava region. The company also holds a permit to produce oil on the Voronkivsko-Seliukhivska area. The field’s development programme provided for nine new wells — seven production and two exploration — down to 6,600 m.

In spring 2022 Nadra-Geoinvest was the first gas producer to resume work on its fields, and during the war it drilled three wells about 5,800 m deep.

Before the full-scale invasion the company produced about 7 million m³ of gas a month and was long a minor player. In two years of war it tripled output and showed the fastest growth among the seven largest private gas producers, according to Forbes Ukraine.

On 3 December 2025 the group’s company Gaz-MDS won the auction for the permit to the Liubynetska area in the Stryi and Drohobych districts of the Lviv region — the Boryslav oil and gas province, next to producing fields. The price was more than UAH 110 million excluding VAT, double the starting price; bidders included companies of the DTEK and ESKO-Pivnich groups.

The 83.87 km² area holds natural gas, oil, dissolved gas and condensate; the permit runs for 20 years. It takes the group beyond the Poltava region for the first time, to western Ukraine.
